Quoting from the release notes:

- Experimental script for creating a bootable flash-pendrive from a running KNOPPIX live session (mkbootdev by Martin Öhler)

Has anybody tried this mkbootdev script yet? (I would, but my BitTorrent is still downloading....)

I'm curious what the differences are between the script and my tutorial here on the Wiki:

http://knoppix.net/wiki/Bootable_USB_Key

How successful is mkbootdev at making bootable USB keys? Does it work on more, or fewer, BIOS's than keys created by following my tutorial? What's the maximum size of USB key that it can handle?

I used this script to make a 4GB Sandisk Cruzer Micro bootable on a Dell Latitude D610 laptop. One difference I encountered between mkbootdev and your tutorial is that I couldn't make the USB key read-write using the instructions in your tutorial. Have you seen this, and do you know what could cause this?
