:?: I created a new user profile before remastering and burning the ISO image. The new image defaults to the root profile. How do I change the
default user profile to accept my new user profile as the default user.

I had originally copied all of the new user profile to the /etc/skel directory.
This did not work. Has anyone ran into this problem, and developed a work around?

Thanks,
BD.

from within knoppix there is a knoppix menu within the main panel menu, there is an option for a root shell and you can change your root password there...

i wasnt sure if this was what you were asking... just let me know...

Thank you for the reply; however, what I am trying to do is change the
entire user profile to login as a new user called "knoppixr" instead of the
default user "root". This new user "knoppixr" is a stripped down version
of the knoppix user with only options for Internet, Games, and Multimedia.
Also, a different background to be used, Browser to preload, and specific
bookmarks to be added. I have a request for this solution to run entirely on CD and to use the "knoppixr" profile. All of my attempts to remaster
the CD produce the same results with the default profile going to root.

Any ideals?
