Hi Guys,

Does anybody know what could be the reason if the mouse is not working under Knoppix 5.1? I have the normal integrated touch pad mouse but also tried a USB mouse and a standard old mouse (I don't know if it is called "serial"?).

I got the DVD from an enterprise, is it possible that they don't install the drivers for the mouse?
Does anybody know if I can use the keyboard for managing everything?????
I would be very gratefull if anybody could help me!

Cheers,
Laura

I've wanted this shortcut for a while
for when my mouse fails
( my kvms need resetting sometimes )

alt-tab does the same thing, process changing

ctrl-tab will change between the four desktops

I just found

alt-F1 will do windows key, pops up the Knoppix menu
alt-F2 does windows-R opens the run dialog

there will be more, but I don't find them until I need them

Hi,

Im having similar problem with 5.1.1 CD, it does not detect my regular PS/2 mouse.

I have Knoppix 4.0.2 CD and the mouse works fine as also with xubuntu. During bootup for 4.0.2,
it detects the generic PS/2 mouse and prints a line before a line for sound card.

But with 5.1.1 CD, it does not detect/print the line. After startup, I see /dev/mouse is linked to ttyS0 (serial)
which is not correct. I tried the boot option pci=irqmask=0x0e98, as given in
http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Hardware_FAQ#Q:_My_PS.2F2_mouse_doesn.27t_work.21
But it did not help.

Thanks
