Gonna use 'motion' on knoppix cdrom release.
So here's the Question :
But I need the path where the libavcodec (part of ffmpeg) is stored.
Any body knows where this ?
(Because I suspect that parts of knoppix are loaded only at use of program).

If y don't know motion ,it's a nice little piece of work that I believe is worth a place on knoppix.
What does it do ? : capture images from video sources (webcam or tunercard),has a built-in mini-webserver,has integrated motion detection,and may many more.
check it out at : http://www.lavrsen.dk/sources/webcam/motion_guide.htm

thank to you for the info ,and for you moderators and knoppix addicts who are forging single-handed a new free linux world.

I found it right here (http://sourceforge.net/projects/ffmpeg/)
And BTW- posting your question once is sufficient.

sorry for this ,but I had put it in the wrong topic group.

BTW I did'nt found the libavcodec on a standard knoppix release so I've had to install it (ffmpeg).
I used ./configure with the option to install the bin into the home directory of knoppix.
=>went smoothly
Once installed I had my libavcodec. (and the path)
Now I can get on with surveillance system. I did already some positive testing. It rocks. I am using an epia motheboard to get the whole into a small box and connect with this some standard usb camera's . LMAO .

cya. thanks for the reply anyway 8)
