Assuming you have enough RAM and you use the TORAM option to copy the KNOPPIX cd entirely in RAM and that you use apt-get to install new software... can you still create a persistent disk image on a USB pendrive, for example?

I mean how will KNOPPIX take note of the newly installed software now that everything is being carried out in RAM?

Quoting Mr. Klaus Knopper:

The "persistent image" is overlayed with the system in the ramdisk. Newly created, or changed files, will be found and written in the persistent image, while everything else will be read from the ramdisk-copied image.

Issue solved... :)

Thanks Mr. Knopper
