Hello
I copied from the live cd (5.1.1) to my partitioned hard drive using
knoppix tohd=/dev/hda5
and have booted from it using
knoppix bootfrom=/dev/hd5
and was impressed at the increase in speed.
However whilst playing “reversi the entire system seized up and would not respond to keystrokes; so the only option was to switch the power off. In such an event, is there a way of instructing it to repair the damage left by the field not being unmounted correctly?
Would writing a swap file to the disk partition help, if so how would one do this?
Have studied the codes and not found anything as yet.
Am a beginner, migrating from Windows.
Regards,
John
