Hello,

I currently have a faulty Windows 2000 machine that appears to have a corrupt dll file. I currently have a Knoppix Bootable USB Key with a new non-corrupt Windows dll file located on it.

For some reason, when I try to copy or move file to the Windows 2000 partition, I receive a 'read-only file system' error and it prevents me from moving or copying this file into the WINNT\SYS32 directory (or any other directory for that matter).

How do a copy a file from my bootable USB key over to the Windows 2000 partition?

Thanks, Owen

After a little reading, the fix was rather simple. On the KNOPPIX desktop, the HD was already mounted. All you need to do is write click the mouse and change read/write mode. Then it allowed me to copy, etc without a problem.

I figured something needed to be done in the CLI to enable writing, copying, etc, not a simple right click of the mouse.
