Boot "Failure"

I am getting the following message when I try to boot, "Boot from ATAPI CD-ROM: Failure... DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER" Anyone have an idea what's going on?

The machine is one my daughter picked up from a classmate that was getting rid of it. I think it was built to run Windows98.

Hard to say with the info given. Have you booted that disc sucessfully in other computers (that is, is it burnt properly?)?. Did you burn it at low speed? What is the make and model of the computer in question, and do you have any other specs for it? Does it still have an OS on it, and if so can it see the CD from the OS?
