View Full Version : Can Knoppix be a apt-get install source?

Hello,every guys。
I have a Knoppix livedvd,and I want to install it to my hdd.But there is not a little people told me that Knoppix is not suitable
for hdd install.so I want to install a Debian etch.But there comes a question:Can I make the livedvd a source for Debian system?

No. Your source(s) for a Debian install have to be original uninstalled packages. The software in Knoppix is already installed. It's also a mix of different versions of Debian packages, to properly install you should be working with on release (such as testin or stable).
