View Full Version : another HDD booting issue

ok goto boot knoppix off the cd
i just get stuck @ the screen with the 2 penguins and nothing appears
then try expert mode and cant remember the excat command but get an error on a hdd issue
unplug my hdd and it boots fine
hdd is a 120gb ide hdd BUT has a sata converter on it
the 120 also has 2 windows ntfs partitions on it

so any luck ?? anything i can try

btw i can install redhat on it easy no issues but dont like redhat

edit = the cd is fine i can boot it up from another pc

Try waiting a LONG time after the penguins appear. Like 5-7 minutes. If it eventually boots up, then you will need to either live with the time delay or go back to knoppix version 5.01 or wait for knoppix 5.21 to be released.
