Hi, I have the following problem:
I have tried to run Knoppix (knoppix-x86_64-v5.1.1CD-20070412) livecd on my
maschine, CPU: Athlon X2, Motherboard: GigaByte ga-m57sli-s4, GFX card: MSI nx gts8600 t2d256e oc.When Knoppix boots, the following happens: While checking the hardware the booting process gets stuck when checking the IDE. I then tried to boot without hardware check (disabled with boot option). It works fine, until the boot proces comes to the GFX card detection. I get a message that the GFX card is 'unknown'. When the XServer starts up, the monitor gets blank, but the boot process continues for about 30 sec. It seems like the KDE enviroment startsup properly (but that I cant see, eh). Has anybody a solution how to solve these problems.

for disabling the hw scan get you there, try the boot option xmodule=vesa. It won't let you 3d but plain vga at least
