I am using knopix to recover data from the previous system... suse 10.1.
No now i am in Knoppix's gui :) luckly i can backup almost everything
using k3b.
But there is 1 problem i need to get in my home dir /home/rk but
ofcourse its locked.
Now is my question is there a way to bypass that ...i mean is it
possible to login as rk so i can back the stuff in the home directory ?

Some help would be very Appreciated.

How is it locked, is it encrypted ?

From the Knoppix Desktop, you should be able to click on the icon for the partition that your /home directory and see the contents.

I know but its a home dir from a previous system.../dev/hda1/home/rk...am not talking about the home dir knoppx made.
So its not encrypted....the user dir is from the previous system.

My Suse 10.1 crashed whit a fatal error (nvidia kernel driver crash).

DonĀ“t close this thread: tell us: how was your problem solved?
If you use a root modus in Knoppix you should be able to do almost anything, I would think?

Tell us, please.
