Updatina a customised Knoppix dvd from old to new Knoppix ve

Hi !

I have an old customised DVD that is built on Knoppix version 3. It has a lot of programs added, config changes etc. It would take weeks to remake this with a new (say 5.1.1) version of Knoppix (remastering is not the problem, adding the programs and other changes will take the time). So is it possible to somehow upgrade the Knoppix version while maintaining all the rest?

No, you're a lot better off starting with a recent Knoppix and repeating the customization (make some scripts this time to save yourself work in the future). KDE will almost certainly not work if you attempt to update it starting so far back.
