Boot failure?

Okay I am a total Linux noob and i'm trying to get Knoppix to boot. I burned the .iso to a DVD and it goes through all the auto detection fine. However as soon as it gets done and says, "Starting Xwindow" etc... and then loads the AGP modules and it skips to a blank screen and my VGA drops? The monitor clicks over to hibernation?

Not sure whats going on.

I have a BFG 7950GT OC for a vga card, and i just barely downloaded the most recent ver of Linux (finished DLing today)

any ideas?
