Hello,
I have been using Knoppix 3.1 for some time, and was very happy with it. It worked on all my pc's without a hitch.
Now I have downloaded 3.2 build 20-05-2003 and for some reason the new Knoppix has problems with hardware, that Knoppix 3.1 did not have ?!
- my monitor always worked fine: in Knoppix 3.2 the image has vertical lines all over it, and is distorted
- on my portable the Compaq the touchpad doesn't work anymore in Knoppix 3.2
- the integrated on board audio worked perfectly with 3.1, not with 3.2
Are other people also experiencing hardware problems with 3.2 that did not exist in 3.1 ? If new hardware is just added to the drivers, how come that previously supported hardware doesn't work anymore ?
Besides that I noticed that:
- fons in Mozilla and Open Office looked worse
- the flash player wasn't installed automatically in the browsers anymore
How come that once good improvements in a version, disappear in the next version? Do they disappear when updating a package ?
Many thanks for your info ! :)
Even more thanks for the Knoppix developers ! :D
