Recover files from carshed win Knoppix 5.1.1 -external HD

Although this is topic was discussed before, and as you can see in the first link it is straighforward (although it is knoppix V3.xx).

but mine does not work, I do not why!!!!,,,,external usb HD 120 GB came under name sdb1,,,,and I did right click and mounted to /media/sdb1 (default location).

I changed permisson for external usb HD to read and write as well.

When i tried to use "copy to" (because I could not find copy and paste,,,,Is it there or not by default) option to copy "MyData" form sda1 (winodws C drive) to /media/sdb1 it gave me this error message:

Could not make folder /media/sdb1/MyData

Maybe is a permission issue: try to do that as root.

With "mount" you can check what is mounted,where and how: maybe you mounted the ext drive ro instead rw.
