Boot Problem

So I downloaded the KNOPPIX_V5.3.1DVD-2008-03-26-EN version, did get an error while burning, had no problems booting it until it just shows a black screen. I went into the help section let the dvd test for errors but there weren't any. I have an Acer Aspire 5720 if that might help.

Can anyone help me?

Are you able to go to text console by pressing alt+ctrl+f1
Does your screen flicker a few times before going completely blank
