View Full Version : Installing Knoppix 5.3.1 on Sandisk Cruzer 16G

Tried installing Knoppix 5.3.1 using Sandisk Cruzer 16G (U3 function remove )

# Download fixkp531.exe and run, a USB-Knoppix folder is created
# Download the Knoppix Linux 5.3.1 DVD ISO and move it to the USB-Knoppix folder
# Click fixkp531.bat from the USB-Knoppix folder and follow the onscreen instructions

Selected drive I

ERROR Message - Drive Not recognized. ( USB formated to FAT32 )...

Never try to create knoppix on a USB key via Windows. I did have success onto knoppix 5.1.1 on a USB 2 G thumb drive via the Live CD boot up environment.

I followed the instruction from the below link. It says it works all the way up to 2 TB.

The downside of this approach is that you have to burn your Knoppix onto a DVD and boot from it instead of from windows.
