Hello,

When selecting the option to create a persistent disk image, the wizard asks for a partition where to store it. The ones available are hard disk partitions that already have a running windows. It is just specified the partition, can not point to a specific directory within that partition. What is the wizard going to do with the partition? Format? Or just write an image of the informed size on the root of it? The running windows is safe from this operation? Thank you.

A great deal depends on your version of Windows and the type of partition your hard drive has. If you have Windows 2000 or Xp, then you probably have a NTFS partition on your hard drive, and should NOT create a persistent disk image on your hard drive. a FAT partition, on Windows 98 should be safe.

If you have 2000 or XP and you have a free USB port, then you can store your persistent image on a USB flash or thumb drive. The smallest drives, 512M or 1G, may be enough for your needs.
