freeze on scanning USB/FIREWIRE devices

Can anyone help me this issue?
I am using knoppix 5.1
I press "enter" when i see a "BOOT" screen
it shows how many total memory and free memory of my computer had..
Then it freezes on "scanning on USB/FIREWIRE devices"

Can you tell how much memory you have? Knoppix should boot fine with 256M ram. If it's a problem of insufficient memory, then at the boot prompt you can enter the cheat code knoppix desktop=xfce or knoppix desktop=fluxbox. These are both desktops that use less memory.

Also, did you burn this copy of Knoppix yourself? If so, you should burn at the slowest possible speed to ensure you have a good burn.

You should give as much information about your machine as possible, as well as specifying if your knoppix is CD or DVD. This will save time.

Your checksum probably didn't match/ bad burn as ndb mentioned.

Otherwise try the nousb option.
