Problem: Need to boot into Windows Server 2003 machine to read and pull off data on raid array. However, booting off Knoppix CD fails. The knoppix v5.5.1 cd boots fine on a single processor Intel machine, but not on this one.

Here are the ending two lines where the boot attempt quits:
EIP: [<c02bd210>] pci_bus_clock_list+0x0/0x24 SS:ESP 0068:dfea1ea0
<0>Kernel panic - not syncing: att4empted to kill init!

System info:
Tyan Motherboard K8S Pro dual Opteron
AMIBIOS 08.00.10 6/28/04 ID: 0AAAA000
Processor: 2 AMD Opteron 242 @1600 MHz
Ram: 4 GB, 166 MHz
Onboard SCSI is disabled in BIOS
Using Onboard SATA Raid Controller to run 4 disk array holding data
2nd Rocketraid was used to boot 2-drive mirror with W2003 OS.

Is there a way to boot this old machine? If so, do you need any other information?

First, a little bit of confusion on my part:-
Do you mean Knoppix 5.3.1 DVD or Knoppix 5.1.1 CD ? there is no Knoppix 5.5.1

If its the 5.1.1 CD version with kernel 2.4.19 then it possibly wont recognise the SATA hard disk controller.
I havent downloaded the 5.3.1 DVD but I believe its is supplied with an updated kernel and therefore more
hardware support, this may be the way to access your data.
