Knoppix live CD is not very good on the wireless networking. USB wireless adapter make it even worse.

However, it is still worth to try it out.

I control my knoppix wireless config via the command line, so the following instructions requires you to open the console and do some commands typing.

To open the console, single click on the black tv icon on your task bar.

To make sure knoppix can or cannot see your wireless adapter at boot time.

knoppix@Knoppix:~$ iwconfig

you should get something back similar to

lo no wireless extensions.

eth0 no wireless extensions.

wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"" Nickname:""

If you get a line saying "wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ...", that means knoppix found the wireless adapter on boot time and name it as wlan0. Then following the steps on http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Network_Wireless_for_Knoppix_5.3.1_FAQ FAQ 1

If not, your wireless adapter is not recognized by the knoppix at boot time. Then try to use the ndiswrapper way.
