How to avoid the search for Knoppix on internal HD

Hi, I'm using Knoppix on a netbook. I installed it on an external usb pen because the internal hd is only 2GB (and it is entirely occupied by Windows XP). Is it possible to avoid the search for Knoppix in internal hd (/dev/sda1) when it starts? In this way I can make the starting process speedier.
