Hi all,
I am new in the forum and as a Knoppix 5 user.
I did the whole process in order to create a persistent disk image in my hard disk (not usb flash memory).
The system told me that everything is OK and did reboot.
The thing is that there is not save persistent image option in the Knoppix menu so I have no idea how to save my settings
Any clues?
Thank you all...

Greetings mouratos1a

When posting please give more specific information.
Please state the full information of which knoppix you use.
Example: DVD KNOPPIX-5.3.1
How do you boot?
Example: I boot from the DVD
How did you make a persistent disk image?
Example: Create persistent Knoppix,
I checked /dev/hda1IDE HD Partition [ntfs]

Do you see the file knoppix.img on your
hard drive?

When you boot does knoppix find the file automatically?
The file knoppix.img is read during booting, not after booting.
If not try the cheat code at booting:
knoppix home=scan
or
knoppix home=/dev/hda1

The persistent image will save your home and some
settings but not some advanced settings.

Older knoppix versions had save KNOPPIX configuration
but this is more limited and not on the menu.

Although it is a bit old, read KnowingKnoppix from the
introduction screen. Start at page 103.

Best Wishes

Another question is what format is your partition? If it's NTFS, as in Windows 2000 or XP, then you should not save your persistent image to the hard drive; it's safe with a FAT partition. Writing to a NTFS partition can carry a risk of corrupting your hard drive partition.
