It installed, appended the new install to the /boot/grub/menu.lst but trying to boot it gives me three lines of error, the third one always
"Kernel Panic could not mount root on hd0,0"
The /boot/grub/menu.lst was generated from an install of Knoppix 5.1 on /dev/hda1 and at the end of the 0wn installer I simply chose to append it instead of writing a new grub or a new menu.lst
Also the 0wn installer wouldn't let me simply install it into a partition I had already set up, with /dev/sdb1 as the ext2 filesystem and /dev/sdb2 as the swap partition.
It repartitioned the disk as swap on first partition and the filesystem on the second.
Wasn't a matter of lack of disk space, either, the install created a swap drive of 512 M and /sdb2 was 3600+ megabytes, and the install was less than half that space.
It also passes the old test of "last cylinder being <1024"
Is there an install method for Knoppix 6 which allows me more control/less automated?
Or a way to amend the initialization, because it's seemingly geared to only work from the first partition on the first hard drive.
