Okay so my windows XP got messed up for some reason and now I'm using Knoppix to make sure i don't lose any files i can't afford to lose.

So i mounted my 2 windows partitions and i have no problem seeing all my files and stuff.
But here is the problem, i need to make some room for my backup files on my second partition which is almost full.

But every time i try to delete a file i get an error saying "could not delete ****".

Anybody knows how to delete my files?

Is the second partition NTFS? If so, don't delete anything with Knoppix. You risk completely corrupting the partition, not just the other files there but any files that you might try to recover.

I suggest instead using Knoppix to back up files to another computer across a network, or to back up to a flash drive or other FAT partitioned device. And, with some versions of Knoppix you'll have to be sure that you mount the partition with read-write access. Just don't do that do a NTFS partition.
