This may be of interest to some people: Bonzai Linux (previously known as miniwoody). Bonzai is not meant to be a live cd, like Knoppix, but rather a small, single CD, installable version of Debian (180mb). I have not used it myself yet, but supposedly the install process is a lot easier than the current Debian install routine. The most current release (1.7) has also included some Knoppix stuff: namely netcardconfig as a network configuration tool. Bonzai uses KDE 3.1.2 as the default desktop. The Bonzai home page (http://www.gnulinux.de/) is in German, but the download site is located here (https://developer.berlios.de/projects/bonzai/) (English). This may be of interest to people who like Knoppix because it is an easy way to install Debian, but would like to resolve some of the difficulties associate with the hdinstall. Untill I get around to trying it myself, I'd be interested to hear comments.

Here's the Bonzai .pdf intall guide http://download.berlios.de/bonzai/install_de.pdf

It's mostly in german, but with enough English posted at the top of each picture that it's pretty easy to follow.
