How to fix audio?

So I restored my comp a few months ago, but when it worked, the audio didn't. I know it's not my speakers cause i tried 2 other ones and i checked the audio devices and none was recognized. IDK how to use the KNoppix CD to restore this, but my friend said it would help...but now i'm lost on what to do. I have a windows XP Home. Can someone lead me in the right direction? TY very much

Knoppix is not going to do anything to fix XP audio problems.

What you mean by "restored your computer" isn't very clear, but these forums are not the proper place to discuss windows related problems, with the exception of using Knoppix to try to recover files from a disk that Windows has trashed.
