3.4.11.iso when burned to a cd then put in the windows 98, got the open with pop up. Tried searching but to no avail. I don't want to waste the old laptop it runs great. Tried puppy linux etc same thing , even tried burning them as bootable cd and got pop up do i want to use current image. What am I doing wrong????

uhm, you are likely not starting from the CD.
Knoppix is not a program to be installed it is a separate system.
read this (one link, despite occupying two lines, just klick it)
http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Downloading_FAQ#Q:_I_have_downloaded_the_ISO_file. _How_do_I_burn_the_ISO.3F_How_is_the_ISO_supposed_ to_be_burned.3F
then this
http://www.knoppix.net/wiki/Downloading_FAQ#Q:_My_computer_won.27t_boot_from_C D._What_should_I_do.3F
these two links should help, if not ask again, would help to know what brand and model your computer is, if you have no brand name we will try anyway but likely not step by step.
