Hi there,
I've had my laptop down for quite awhile now, so i was trying to rescue all my files by copying them over to my external harddisk. Somehow i realised that there were quite abit of missing files from my music folder, but previously i'd assumed that perhaps they'd been deleted or something. Yesterday as i was trying to re-download some of my music on the external harddisk, i realised that all the files missing were the ones with foreign language file names; ie Japanese/Chinese words.
I'd plugged in a thumbdrive and realised that on knoppix, the files with JP/CN file names display mostly as ??? or special characters. (only for the thumbdrive, still can't find the files on my C drive)
Therefore, will like to ask if there's actually a way i can make those files appear? Do i have to install the JP version of knoppix or something, or is there really no way of me retrieving the files again?
Will be glad for some help as i've been stuck here for quite some time.. :?
My version of knoppix btw; KNOPPIX_V6.0.1CD-2009-02-08-EN.
