tried running knoppix on my PC today and it started to boot up then came up with a message on the screen saying input signal not in range, any idea how to get rid of this? I'm a first time user of linux so am not really that knowledgable when it comes to the OS.

If you are using the Knoppix 6.2 livecd there are "cheatcodes" that are included on the disc.
You can copy and print them out for a handy reference.

When you get the Knoppix boot screen hit any key and it should pause the boot sequence then
you could add a "cheatcode" i.e. knoppix vga=normal. Your graphics card may be the culprit but
if you pass on the right cheatcode you may get to a graphical desktop. :D
