okay, so ive just got knoppix up on my other computer, i have my home networks LAN plugged into it, but it wont recognize it. so i go to Home and then to services, and click on the LAN viewer or something of that sort, and it says that i need to install and initialize LISa daemon. does anone know where i could find this LISa Daemon? is it already on the knoppix disk? or do i have to download it from somewhere? any help would be appreciated. all i really want to know is how to get the internet up and running.

Hiya!

Im quite new to this too! Thogh I already know a thing or two. Internet with Knoppix is quite easy and you wont need Lisa for it!
But I cannot tell you how to connect to the Internet when I dont even know if you use a NAT Router, direct ISDN or DSL or whatever!

By the way ...I am trying to use Lisa right now....it would be nice have a short howto on that, because it is not easy for a newby to configure and run. Also it would be REALLY interesting to newbies like me ...

Hope to hear somthin of thee (the Linux masters) ;-)

Okay!
I've written a script to wake up lisa. It must be run as root, or else lisa won't start correctly. I'd be glad if you could test it a little. For it to work, it needs correctly set up network card.

here's the link: http://users.volja.net/zejnovi/lissetup.sh

Just do this in console:
wget http://users.volja.net/zejnovi/lissetup.sh
chmod +x lissetup.sh
./lissetup.sh
