Computer is a Dell Dimension E521. The Dell monitor has a native resolution of 1440x900 at 60 Hz. However, the Knoppix 6.2 memory stick always boots to a destop with resolution 800x600. (That is the maximum listed in the resolution change tool.) I have tried various combinations of cheat codes "noddc". "screen=1440x900", and "vsync=60", but they make no difference.

Here is the "lspci -v" output. Any ideas?

I had to disable the Compiz fusion thing to get the 'screen' cheat code to work properly, cheat code no3d in 6.2 (Dell Vostro 1710). And desktop LXDE.

You might find out more by looking at the X log. In the old days, X -probeonly 2>&1, or something like that, can't remember exactly, could provide some diagnostic information.
Oh, and could sudo lspci -v avoid the 'access denied's?
