new to Linux

Hi im new to linux and im working with knoppix 3.2 released 2007 23 july and i got the cd to boot up and problem is i cant in get it to reconise the linux swap partition i created could i get some with this please

Is there some special reason to use such an old version? I highly recommend getting 6.2 or 6.3, they should be much better in virtually every regard.
