How do I connect external speakers in Knoppix?

I am new to Linux. I use Knoppix 6.2, and I wanted to know how I could connect my external speakers, because I don't want to use my internal speakers. Oh, and it is a mini-jackstick. Could anyone help me?:D Thanks!

If your external speakers have got an integrated amplifier then I would connect them to the LINE-OUT port of your sound card. Otherwise I think you can connect them to the port used for headphones.

If you like to regulate the sound volume then you can use aumix in the Sound and Video menu. In addition aumix offers the ability to mute channels.
