returned to the forum after a bit of self educating and am still stumped on this issue
I cant watch youtube, hulu or any java based page...

I am using knoppix 6.2 on my pendrive in my laptop, and am trying to figure out once again how to enable java.

Which version do i want? YUM, tar.gz, .rpm,.deb, or APT.

after i click downlaod a window comes up and asks if i want to Open with synaptic package manager (default) or to save file. which one?

any help would be awsome!

to be more specific when i go to say youtube it says you seem to have java script turned off, using iceweasel i click tools>addons>java is enabled... I click on the link that takes you to the adobe web site http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/ now this is where i get stuck, Which version do i want? YUM, tar.gz, .rpm,.deb, or APT.

this may be a little late but here's how you can do it:

click on the K (programs menu) - Accessories - Root Terminal

type "apt-get update" and let it run then type "apt-get install flashplugin-nonfree"

restart your browser, and make sure you acept the script to play the flash plugin.
