Please list/explain the boot sequence for Knoppix. That is, what configuration files are loaded after the kernal? Do any of these files contain settings for the login screen. Thanks.

Please list/explain the boot sequence for Knoppix.That would take a very long time and include much information you might find impertinent.


That is, what configuration files are loaded after the kernal?Start with /init, move on to /etc/inittab, follow that by practically all 138 scripts in /etc/init.d, which, between them, reference probably just about every other file you can find under /etc.


Do any of these files contain settings for the login screen.Knoppix has no login screen. Why would you want one ? :o

You might find what you seek by grubbing around in the files under /etc/xdg. Assuming you are running the LXDE desktop. You didn't say.
