Boot from CD

I am new to Knoppix. I copied Knoppix from the website to my hardrive, then I burned it to a CD. After that, I tried to boot my computer (which has Windows XP Media Center) from that CD, I got a black screen. It does nothing after this. What I am doing wrong?

Hard to say based on the little information given. Did you verify the md5 checksum before burning the disc? Did you burn the ISO file as an image? Did you burn at low speed? Did you read the Downloading FAQ (found by following the documentation link near the top of this page)?
