Hello community,

My name is Wotter.

I am attempting to use Knoppix 6.4 on a Hp Pavillion laptop that uses a NVIDIA GeForce7150m/ nForce630M graphics card. The initializing sequence and the Knoppix boot logo display fine. But, once the Knoppix GUI starts the screen is horribly distorted like as if you had selected a resolution your monitor/video card couldnt handle.
This leads me to believe that my version of knoppix isn't compatible with said video card. I would like to know if I am right or not , and if so what should I do. If any one can help me it be greatly appreciated. I am a newbie in these regards.

Wotter.

Follow the Documentation link near the top of this page to get to the wiki. Read the section on "cheat codes", which are parameters that you can feed to knoppix at boot time to over ride boot time hardware detection. There are cheat codes that will let you force the monitor size in pixels, change the scan rate, and even use different or generic graphics drives (such as VESA).
