ADRIANE-KNOPPIX_V6.7.0CD-2011-08-01-EN.iso.

These are the two files I downloaded and I can't get them to successfully burn. I tried numerous times. I doubt it's my cd/dvd burner because I burn dvds all of the time and did two days ago just fine., also I burned other linux distros today.

Can somebody link me to a working iso I am at my last cdr to record knoppix onto. Is this problem just me?

Also I am trying to recover files from a fried harddrive I tried using puppy linux, but it won't let me mount the drive, but it recognizes it and says it is unformatted. The drive boots up to the vista loading screen then goes black, so I doubt it's unformatted. I was hoping I'd have better luck with Knoppix. Do you have any advice if my last cd doesn't burn?

Well, you didn't tell us what you are doing wrong (imagine that!), so I can only offer a few thoughts:

Did you confirm the md5 checksum? Failing to do this is a likely source of problems. I've seen many bad downloads from the mirrors, and if you have a bad download then the burning is doomed. About 50% of my Knoppix iso downloads were bad before Bittorrent downloads became available. Bittorrent downloads are by far the preferred way to go, both faster and more reliable, unless you have an ISP who is deliberately messing with Bittorrent downloads (or a work situation that prevents downloading a client). You should not need the md5 check if you used a Bittorrent client, but given your problems it would be wise to do anyway (only takes a minute or two and avoids disc waste).

Your asking for a link to a "working iso" makes me further suspect that you are just downloading the iso from a mirror rather than using a bittorrent client. If that is the case and you just refuse to learn to use bittorrent then be very careful to check the md5 sum before burning, or buy lots more media (you might want to consider RW media).

You likely do know how to properly burn an ISO file, since you mention burning other Linux distros. However, I'll stress again how it is very important to do the burn at low speed. High speed burns often can increase the error rate, and error correction does not seen to be in effect while Knoppix is booting. So a good low speed burn is essential.

And before you use your last blank disk, ask yourself if you really want the version with ADRIANE in the name. Most people don't. Hint: if you don't know what the Adrian in the name is telling you then you likely don't want that version.

Otherwise, when you do figure out what is going wrong please post back so we can advise others.
