View Full Version : Monitor blacks out every few minutes?!

Seems to be related to power management, but when I turn power management off or on it has no effect on the problem. Maybe I'm missing something obvious?

At text console: (doesn't have to be root)
' setterm -blank 0 '

At Xterm / rxvt /whatever:
' xset s off '

It's likely a BIOS setting problem. Windows often overrides these BIOS settings, so we often tend to ignore them except in cases like this.

This is another case where more information would be useful. Which motherboard? Which graphics card? It matters.
