My printer for a konica printer (at ip 10.1.1.28 below) is broken in Knoppix 7.0.4. The following command line sequence in Knoppix 6.7.1 (cups 1.5.0-5) configures the printer that works properly for 'lp':

lpadmin -p konica -v smb://10.1.1.28/C552 -P /usr/share/ppd/Driver-konica-C552/CUPS1.2/English/KOC652UX.ppd
cupsenable konica
cupsaccept konica
/etc/init.d/cups restart

In Knoppix 7.0.4 (either cups 1.5.3-1 or 1.5.3-2.4), the printer is initially configured OK. The first print job (via 'lp') however incurs an error (recorded in /var/log/cups/error_log): Error writing spool: NT_STATUS_INVALID_NETWORK_RESPONSE and the printer becomes disabled thereafter.

The error may have been emitted from samba though I have not been able to find useful information for fixing this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Still no info on the error message, but the printer behavior is restored after samba downgrade (to 3.5.11~dfsg-1, the version in Knoppix-6.7.1). Will pose the question to samba list.
