Hi there

My system has 2 hard drives. I have just installed Knoppix version 3.2 on my D: drive and am running Windows XP Professional on my C: drive. When I installed Knoppix I selected No to the prompt on installing LILO to the MBR. Now when I boot the computer it just boots into Windows XP and I don't get an option to select to boot to Knoppix.

Presumably I need to edit the boot.ini file but don't know what to add.

Would appreciate any help please.

Thanks

Andy

You should have made a boot disk during installation. The boot up using your linux boot disk.

or.......

Bootup using a knoppix live cd.

Copy the boot.img from your knoppix HD drive to the root of your XP drive.

Reboot into windows XP.

Edit your boot.ini (hidden/read-only file in your c:\) and add a rule that points to the just copied boot.img in the root of your c:\
Reboot, and choose the option you have just added.

Check this (http://classes.csumb.edu/CST/CST434-01/world/DualBoot.html) link for a good howto. Exept you don't need to make a boot sector file, just use the boot.img.
