doesnt find external HD

i have a 120GB western digital external harddrive. knoppix doesnt find it. i am kinda new to linux so go easy on me.

i am running from the cd only. it finds my 2 cd drives and floppy drive fine. what can i do get knoppix to find it?

I think the problem with you getting a reply to your posting is due to the fact that nobody has really dealt with firewire devices here. That being said you may want to subscribe to the developers (http://mailman.linuxtag.org/mailman/listinfo/debian-knoppix) list and see if you can get an answer there.
