my question is how could i add a browser like say netscape 4.7 to knoppix, i cant use the HD install option so it would have 2 go on the CD.

is there any way 2 do this?

i actually intend to put netscape 4.7 on my LNX-BBC, but this is the only site where i can find advice on a bootable linux distro, and i think it may be applicable to LNX-BBC.
if u know the answer to LNX-BBC specificaly go ahead and post it

Why not just use Mozilla which does come on the live cd?

Netscape Navigator 4.79 is working on our Knoppix 3.2 CD only machine, with a persistent user directory. Downloaded the program from Netscape, installed it specifying the install directory was /home/knoppix. Install worked fine. First run, netscape complained that it couldn't find a shared library (libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2). To fudge around this we made a symlink in the netscape install directory with libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2 symlinked to
/usr/lib/libstdc++-3-libc6.2-2-2.10.0.so and used the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable to let netscape find this symlink when run.

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/home/knoppix/netscape ; /home/knoppix/netscape/netscape

This can be entered as a shell command, or put in a shell script and launced that way.
