Found this one by accident.

It looks prety good and it has a hard drive install icon. It also has a extra's CD for more apps when you install to your hard drive.

I am actually running this Distro. You are right, the install is very slick. The only thing is once installed you need to change the passwords of root and any user added.

I have not found a forum for Mepis Linux.

mount your cdrom

mount /dev/hdx /cdrom (x may be c, d etc)

then double-klick on anyfile.deb (to install it with kpackage)

or
dpkg -i /cdrom/anyfile.deb

you may read and try
apt-cdrom add

my apt-cdrom is not working now. This dont works with any cd. Only with specially prepared cd
