Not much else to add except I'm new to any unix like environment
and have no idea why knoppix is trying to load a smp kernel
on my non-smp machine (and spitting out a error message when
it can't find any extra processors)
it doesn't do this on my old amd k6
but it does it on my new athlon mp
I'm just wondering if this is normal
behavior or if its a error of some kind
I'm pretty sure this isn't a multi-processor
motherboard I'm using after all
its just a low-end hewlett packard i bought
at walmart

Probably not eh? :D

Boot like this:

boot: knoppix lang=us nosmp (pul any other cheat codes you may need).

It does that on recent Dell systems too.
