You'll need to unrar that file although I must say I didn't know they came that way. Did you download it from a Knoppix mirror?

Anyway- there is some windows tool for RAR. Then you should have a file with an extension of .iso SO something like:

KNOPPIX_V3.2-2003-06-06-EN.ISO

Then go here to the
Cdburning in windows (http://www.knoppix.net/docs/index.php/FaqDownloading) how-to. That should get you fixed up.

I have no idea what that is but it isn't an .iso

Download an .iso from here (http://www.knoppix.net/get.php)

It will also have an md5sum to check the .iso size. An explaination of md5sum is also in the first link I posted.

I think you've downloaded a "dodgy" file.... do as Richenbacherus suggests and download an original ISO from wwww.knoppix.net.....

I honestly don't have a clue what you have downloaded, hope this helps.

Go to this link (http://www.knoppix.net/get.php) LEFT Click on FTP next to ecn.purdue.edu - US

That will bring you to a Knoppix software agreement page. LEFT click Accept and you will find a list of files.
LEFT click on KNOPPIX_V3.2-2003-06-06-EN.iso 699.3 MB
Save As....whatever you like where ever you like.

I think that I may know what is happening. Winrar's newest feature is to be able to read iso files. This leads to users believing that an iso is a rar archive, it is not. To answer your question you do not need to download a new copy of Knoppix (I believe). All you need to do is read up on how to burn an iso with your choice of burning program (NTI, CD maker, Nero, etc...) I hope that helps.

oke i will try that

i hope that that it is.

it seems very logic if you think about that option

Sounds like you need to update your anti-virus software to get rid of the winrar virus!
