Is thier a front end to apt-get? Dont know if i said that right,but im talking about a gui-front end to the apt-get.

apt-get install synaptic in the same root console window synaptic to start.

Another possibility is aptitude, which is an interactive shell-based front end. Some like it better than Synaptic; for one thing, it's more mature.
