Hi

I have the same problem. And it seems, you also have a Toshiba Notebook.
I guess it is the new kernel 2.4.21 which causes this error. If I start knoppix using "knoppix noswap" I don't get the lost-IRQ-messages. But then I see that the system doesn't recognise my hd-partitions. /proc/partitions only contain the full disk (hda) with no partitions shown. Giving a 'fdisk -l' shows all my partitions.
Sorry, but I haven't found a solution either. I downgraded back to the latest Knoppix with kernel 2.4.20 which is dated 2003-06-06.

But if you have a solution, please give me a hint. I will do also.

Bye

When booting (i use Morphix, a derivative of Knoppix and it's the same problem), boot zith the following option:

morphix dma

or then for knopix, i think:

knoppix dma

It fixed this problem for me.

Now I have another one, my libnsl.1.so got somehow corrupted and i can't login into my system (on my hd), and when booting knoppix/morphix, it says :
hda: unknown partition table.

Now it's my turn, please help! ;-) but :(
